waltz with bashir

Lorna and I went to Hyde Park Picture House for the first time on wednesday to see a film called Waltz With Bashir, a documentary film directed by Ari Bowman animating his experiences with remembering the 1982 Lebanon War.

The film told how Ari, after a conversation with an old friend about a recurring dream about 26 dogs which he believes to be linked with the Lebanon war, is prompted to realise that he doesn't remember any of the war or massacre. The film is follows Ari as he interviews others who were in his troop, until his memories come flooding back to him.

I thought it was brilliant, despite pretty harrowing at the end. As I didn't know much about the war in Lebanon I think I shall look into it.

trailer..

Oh yeh, it also had a pretty awesome soundtrack, stuff which I hadn't heard in ages.
